Support for SMEs
SMEs are actively encouraged to participate in all the above research actions. The rules specify a funding rate of 75% for R&D activities of SMEs (increased from 50% in FP6) which should make it more attractive for SMEs to participate. In addition, a key feature of FP7 is a simplification of the rules and procedures which will reduce the bureaucratic burden. For projects falling outside of the above themes, SMEs can also participate via the Capacity Programme: Research for the benefit of SMES
What is the process for applying?
The EC will publish calls for proposals based around the priority thematic areas once or twice per year inviting the submission of project proposals. The calls are usually open for 3-5months. Register now to receive e-bulletins highlighting upcoming calls, events and information regarding FP7
